Windows Phone Smart DNS Setup Guide
Follow this legacy guide to set up UnGeo Smart DNS on Windows Phone using your Wi-Fi network settings, if your device supports manual DNS.
Before You Start
Before changing your DNS settings, make sure your UnGeo account is active and your current IP address is added in your Client Area. If that is already done, continue with the DNS setup below.
Don’t have an account yet?
Choose a plan and create your UnGeo account before setting up DNS.
Get Started ›Add your current IP address
Add your current IP address in the Client Area to allow UnGeo to work properly.
Register My IP Address ›Once both are done, continue with the DNS setup steps.
Step-by-Step Setup Guide
Open Settings
Open Settings on your Windows Phone.
Go to Wi-Fi
Tap Wi-Fi and make sure your phone is connected to the Wi-Fi network you want to use with UnGeo.
Open Your Connected Network
Tap and hold your connected Wi-Fi network, then choose Edit if this option is available.
Enable Manual Network Settings
If required, switch the network configuration from automatic to manual or static.
Keep Your Current Network Details
Keep your existing IP address, subnet mask, gateway, and other network details unchanged if they are already shown.
Enter Your UnGeo Smart DNS Servers
Find the DNS field and enter the UnGeo Smart DNS servers from your Client Area.
Save Your Changes
Tap Done, Save, or the confirmation icon to apply the settings.
Restart Your Phone
Restart your Windows Phone so the new DNS settings are applied.
You’re All Set!
Your Windows Phone is now ready to use UnGeo Smart DNS on this Wi-Fi network.
