Ubuntu Smart DNS Setup Guide
Follow this simple guide to set up UnGeo Smart DNS on Ubuntu using the built-in Network settings.
Before You Start
Before changing your DNS settings, make sure your UnGeo account is active and
your current IP address is added in your Client Area. If that is already done,
continue with the DNS setup below.

Check your UnGeo account
Make sure you have an active UnGeo account to use UnGeo Smart DNS.

Add your current IP address
Add your current IP address in the Client Area to allow UnGeo to work properly.

Once both are done, continue with the DNS setup steps.
Step-by-Step Setup Guide

Open Settings
Click the system menu in the top-right corner, then open Settings .

Go to Network or Wi-Fi
In the sidebar, select Network for a wired connection or Wi-Fi for a wireless connection.

Open Connection Settings
Click the gear icon next to the connection you are currently using.

Open IPv4 Settings
Go to the IPv4 tab or section.

Turn Off Automatic DNS
Find DNS and turn off Automatic DNS.

Enter Your UnGeo DNS Servers
Enter the UnGeo DNS addresses shown in your Client Area . If Ubuntu asks for multiple DNS servers in one field, separate them with a comma.

Save Your Changes
Click Apply to save the new DNS settings.

Reconnect Your Network
Disconnect and reconnect your Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection so Ubuntu starts using the new DNS servers.

Restart Your Browser or Streaming App
Close and reopen your browser or streaming app if needed.

Your Ubuntu device is now ready to use UnGeo Smart DNS. Enjoy your favorite shows and channels.
Where do I find my DNS addresses?
Your UnGeo DNS addresses are shown inside your
Client Area .
Keep them private and enter them exactly as displayed there.
Important
Do not use random public DNS services for this setup. To use UnGeo Smart DNS, your device must use the DNS addresses assigned in your UnGeo account.

How to Check If It’s Working
Visit the UnGeo DNS Check page to verify whether your device is using UnGeo Smart DNS correctly.

Troubleshooting
I cannot find the DNS field
Make sure you opened the settings for your active connection. On Ubuntu, DNS settings are usually inside the IPv4 section.
Ubuntu asks for DNS servers in one line
Enter both UnGeo DNS servers in the same DNS field and separate them with a comma.
My DNS settings do not save
Make sure Automatic DNS is turned off before entering the UnGeo DNS servers. Then click Apply.
The connection still uses old DNS servers
Disconnect and reconnect your network connection. If needed, restart Ubuntu to refresh the network configuration.
Streaming still does not work after setup
Make sure your UnGeo account is active, your current IP address is added in the Client Area, and the DNS addresses were entered exactly as shown.

Does UnGeo Smart DNS work on Ubuntu?
Yes. Ubuntu lets you manually set DNS servers for Wi-Fi or wired network connections, which works with UnGeo Smart DNS.
Do I need to install an app on Ubuntu?
No. You can configure UnGeo Smart DNS directly in Ubuntu Network settings.
Should I use Wi-Fi or Network settings?
Use Wi-Fi settings if your Ubuntu device connects wirelessly. Use Network settings if you use Ethernet.
Should I configure IPv6 DNS too?
For most users, IPv4 DNS is enough. If your network uses IPv6 and you notice issues, you may need to adjust IPv6 separately.

Your UnGeo DNS addresses are shown inside your Client Area. Use only the DNS servers assigned to your account.
