PlayStation 5 Smart DNS Setup Guide

Follow this simple guide to set up UnGeo Smart DNS on your PlayStation 5 using the built-in network settings.

Before You Start

Before changing your DNS settings, make sure your UnGeo account is active and your current IP address is added in your Client Area. If that is already done, continue with the DNS setup below.

Choose a plan and create your UnGeo account before setting up DNS.

Add your current IP address

Add your current IP address in the Client Area to allow UnGeo to work properly.

Register My IP Address

Once both are done, continue with the DNS setup steps.

Step-by-Step Setup Guide

Open PlayStation 5 Settings

From the PlayStation 5 home screen, open Settings.

Go to Network

Select Network from the settings menu.

Open Network Settings

Under Network, select Settings.

Set Up Internet Connection

Select Set Up Internet Connection.

Select Your Active Connection

Choose your current Wi-Fi or LAN connection. If needed, press the Options button on your DualSense controller.

Open Advanced Settings

Select Advanced Settings for the selected connection.

Set IP Address Settings

Keep IP Address Settings set to Automatic.

Set DHCP Host Name

Keep DHCP Host Name set to Do Not Specify.

Change DNS Settings to Manual

Change DNS Settings from Automatic to Manual.

Enter Your UnGeo Smart DNS servers

In the Primary DNS field, enter the primary UnGeo Smart DNS server shown in your Client Area. In the Secondary DNS field, enter the secondary UnGeo Smart DNS server.

Set MTU and Proxy

Keep MTU Settings set to Automatic and set Proxy Server to Do Not Use.

Save Your Changes

Select OK or Done to save the new network settings.

Test Internet Connection

Select Test Internet Connection and wait for the test to complete.

Restart PlayStation 5

Restart your PlayStation 5 so the new DNS settings are fully applied.

How to Check If It’s Working

Visit the UnGeo DNS Check page to verify whether your device is using UnGeo Smart DNS correctly.

Go to DNS Check →

Troubleshooting

Open Settings → Network → Settings → Set Up Internet Connection, select your active connection, then press the Options button on your DualSense controller.
Open Advanced Settings and change DNS Settings from Automatic to Manual. The Primary DNS and Secondary DNS fields should appear after that.
Keep IP Address Settings on Automatic, DHCP Host Name on Do Not Specify, MTU on Automatic, and Proxy Server on Do Not Use. Then enter only your UnGeo Smart DNS servers manually.
Restart your router and PS5, then repeat the setup. If you use Wi-Fi, make sure the correct network is selected and the Wi-Fi password is correct.
Make sure your UnGeo account is active, your current IP address is added in the Client Area, and the UnGeo Smart DNS servers were entered correctly.
