Nvidia Shield Smart DNS Setup Guide
Follow this simple guide to set up UnGeo Smart DNS on your Nvidia Shield using the built-in Android TV network settings.
Before You Start
Before changing your DNS settings, make sure your UnGeo account is active and your current IP address is added in your Client Area. If that is already done, continue with the DNS setup below.
Don’t have an account yet?
Choose a plan and create your UnGeo account before setting up DNS.
Get Started ›Add your current IP address
Add your current IP address in the Client Area to allow UnGeo to work properly.
Register My IP Address ›Once both are done, continue with the DNS setup steps.
Step-by-Step Setup Guide
Open Nvidia Shield Settings
From the Nvidia Shield home screen, open Settings.
Go to Network & Internet
Select Network & Internet from the settings menu.
Select Your Active Network
Choose the Wi-Fi or Ethernet network your Nvidia Shield is currently connected to.
Open IP Settings
Scroll down and select IP settings.
Change IP Settings to Static
Change IP settings from DHCP or Automatic to Static. This allows you to enter DNS manually.
Keep Your Current Network Details
Keep the current IP Address, Gateway, and Network Prefix Length values unchanged unless your network requires different manual settings.
Enter Your UnGeo Smart DNS servers
In the DNS 1 field, enter the primary UnGeo Smart DNS server shown in your Client Area. If your Nvidia Shield shows DNS 2, enter the secondary UnGeo Smart DNS server as well.
Save Your Changes
Select Save, Connect, or OK to apply the new network settings.
Restart Nvidia Shield
Go back to Settings, open Device Preferences or System, select Restart, and restart your Nvidia Shield.
You’re All Set!
Your Nvidia Shield is now ready to stream your favorite channels with UnGeo Smart DNS.
