Follow this simple guide to set up UnGeo Smart DNS on your Apple TV 3 using the built-in network settings.
Before You Start
Before changing your DNS settings, make sure your UnGeo account is active and
your current IP address is added in your Client Area. If that is already done,
continue with the DNS setup below.

Choose a plan and create your UnGeo account before setting up DNS.
Once both are done, continue with the DNS setup steps.
Step-by-Step Setup Guide

Open Apple TV Settings
From the Apple TV home screen, open Settings.

Go to General
Select General from the settings menu.

Open Network
Select Network to view your current internet connection.

Select Your Connection
Choose Wi-Fi if your Apple TV is connected wirelessly, or Ethernet if you are using a wired connection.

Select Your Wi-Fi Network
If you are using Wi-Fi, select your active Wi-Fi network from the list.

Open Configure DNS
Select Configure DNS from the network settings screen.

Change DNS to Manual
Change Configure DNS from Automatic to Manual.

Enter Your UnGeo Smart DNS Server
Enter the primary server from your UnGeo Smart DNS servers list shown in the Client Area. If any DNS number group has fewer than three digits, add a leading zero before that group.

Save Your Changes
Select Done to save the new DNS settings.

Confirm Manual DNS
Make sure the DNS field now shows the UnGeo Smart DNS server you entered.

Open General Settings
Go back to Settings and open General.

Open Region Format
Scroll down and select Region Format.

Select United States
Choose United States as your Apple TV region format.

Restart Apple TV
Go back to Settings, open General, and select Restart.

How to Check If It’s Working
Visit the UnGeo DNS Check page to verify whether your device is using UnGeo Smart DNS correctly.
Open Settings → General → Network, then select your active Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection. Configure DNS should appear inside the connection settings.
If you select Wi-Fi, Apple TV may ask you to choose your network again and enter the Wi-Fi password. This is normal on some Apple TV 3 setups.
Apple TV 3 usually allows one manual DNS address. Enter the primary server from your UnGeo Smart DNS servers list in the Client Area.
Make sure Configure DNS is set to Manual before entering the DNS address. After entering the address, select Done and restart Apple TV.
Make sure your UnGeo account is active, your current IP address is added in the Client Area, and the UnGeo Smart DNS server was entered correctly. Then restart Apple TV and reopen the streaming app.
Apple TV 3 does not use the modern App Store like newer Apple TV models. Available channels may depend on your Apple TV software version, Apple ID region, and iTunes Store country.
Apple TV 3 uses an older interface, and menu names may vary slightly depending on the software version. The key setting you need is Configure DNS under Network.
