Troubleshooting

Make sure your device is connected to the pfSense LAN network. Use the pfSense LAN IP address shown in your network settings.
Open Services → DHCP Server and select the LAN tab. The DNS servers fields are usually inside the Servers section.
Reconnect the device to the network or restart it. DHCP DNS changes are usually applied after the device renews its network lease.
If clients receive the pfSense LAN IP as DNS, check the DHCP Server DNS servers fields and make sure the UnGeo Smart DNS servers are entered there.
Make sure your UnGeo account is active, your current IP address is added in the Client Area, and the UnGeo Smart DNS servers were entered correctly.

FAQ

Yes. pfSense can use UnGeo Smart DNS by assigning the UnGeo Smart DNS servers through DHCP or by changing global DNS settings.
For network-wide Smart DNS, open Services → DHCP Server → LAN and enter the UnGeo Smart DNS servers in the DNS servers fields.
For most home Smart DNS setups, DHCP DNS is easier because connected devices receive the UnGeo Smart DNS servers directly.
Usually no. If you assign UnGeo DNS directly through DHCP, connected devices can use those DNS servers without changing the DNS Resolver page.
Usually Apply Changes is enough, but connected devices should be restarted or reconnected so they receive the new DNS settings.
