Android TV Smart DNS Setup Guide

Follow this simple guide to set up UnGeo Smart DNS on your Android TV or Google TV using your network settings.

Before You Start

Before changing your DNS settings, make sure your UnGeo account is active and your current IP address is added in your Client Area. If that is already done, continue with the DNS setup below.

Add your current IP address

Add your current IP address in the Client Area to allow UnGeo to work properly.

Register My IP Address

Once both are done, continue with the DNS setup steps.

Step-by-Step Setup Guide

Open Android TV Settings

From the Android TV home screen, open Settings.

Go to Network & Internet

Select Network & Internet from the settings menu.

Choose Your Connected Network

Select the Wi-Fi network or Ethernet connection you want to use with UnGeo.

Open IP Settings

Scroll down and select IP settings.

Switch IP Settings to Static

Change IP settings from DHCP or Automatic to Static.

Keep Your Current Network Details

Keep the existing IP address, Gateway, and Network prefix length values if they are already shown. In most home networks, the network prefix length is usually 24.

Enter Your UnGeo Smart DNS Servers

When you reach DNS 1 and DNS 2, enter the UnGeo Smart DNS servers from your Client Area.

Save Your Changes

Select Save to apply the new network settings.

Restart Your Android TV

Restart your Android TV or reopen your streaming app so the new DNS settings are applied.

Your Android TV is now ready to stream your favorite channels with UnGeo Smart DNS.

How to Check If It’s Working

Visit the UnGeo DNS Check page to verify whether your device is using UnGeo Smart DNS correctly.

Troubleshooting

Open your connected Wi-Fi or Ethernet network details. On some Android TV models, IP settings may be inside Advanced options.
Keep the existing values if they are already shown. Do not guess random network values.
For most home networks, the value is 24. If your network uses a custom configuration, keep the value already shown by your TV or router.
This is normal on many Android TV and Google TV devices. DNS fields usually appear only after switching IP settings to Static.
Make sure your UnGeo account is active, your current IP address is added in the Client Area, and both UnGeo Smart DNS servers were entered correctly.
