Android Phone Smart DNS Setup Guide

Follow this simple guide to set up UnGeo Smart DNS on your Android phone using your Wi-Fi network settings.

Before You Start

Before changing your DNS settings, make sure your UnGeo account is active and your current IP address is added in your Client Area. If that is already done, continue with the DNS setup below.

Check your UnGeo account

Make sure you have an active UnGeo account to use UnGeo Smart DNS.

Add your current IP address

Add your current IP address in the Client Area to allow UnGeo to work properly.

Register My IP Address

Once both are done, continue with the DNS setup steps.

Step-by-Step Setup Guide

Open Android Settings

Open Settings on your Android phone.

Go to Network Settings

Tap Network & internet, Connections, or Wi-Fi, depending on your Android version and phone brand.

Open Wi-Fi

Tap Wi-Fi and make sure you are connected to the Wi-Fi network you want to use with UnGeo.

Open Your Wi-Fi Network Details

Tap your connected Wi-Fi network. On some phones, tap the gear icon or hold the network name and choose Modify network.

Show Advanced Options

Open Advanced options if they are hidden.

Change IP Settings

Find IP settings and change it from DHCP to Static.

Keep Your Current Network Details

Leave your existing IP address, Gateway, and Network prefix length unchanged if they are already filled in.

Enter Your UnGeo DNS Servers

Enter the UnGeo DNS addresses from your Client Area into DNS 1 and DNS 2.

Save Your Changes

Tap Save or Apply to store the new Wi-Fi DNS settings.

You’re All Set!

Reconnect to Wi-Fi or restart your streaming app if needed. You can now enjoy your favorite shows and channels with UnGeo Smart DNS.

Troubleshooting

On many Android phones, DNS fields appear only after changing IP settings from DHCP to Static.
Do not guess new values. Keep the existing IP address, gateway, and network prefix details if Android already shows them.
Android menus vary between Google Pixel, Samsung, Xiaomi, OnePlus, and other brands. Look for Wi-Fi network details, Modify network, Advanced options, IP settings, and DNS.
Smart DNS setup on Android phones usually applies to Wi-Fi networks only. Mobile data does not normally allow manual DNS server setup in the same way.
Make sure your UnGeo account is active, your current IP address is added in the Client Area, and both DNS addresses were entered exactly as shown.
