Windows 10 Smart DNS Setup Guide
Follow this simple guide to set up UnGeo Smart DNS on Windows 10 using your network adapter settings.
Before You Start
Before changing your DNS settings, make sure your UnGeo account is active and your current IP address is added in your Client Area. If that is already done, continue with the DNS setup below.
Check your UnGeo account
Make sure you have an active UnGeo account to use UnGeo Smart DNS.
Client Area ›Add your current IP address
Add your current IP address in the Client Area to allow UnGeo to work properly.
Register My IP Address ›Once both are done, continue with the DNS setup steps.
Step-by-Step Setup Guide
Open Windows Settings
Click the Windows Start button, then open Settings.
Go to Network & Internet
In Windows Settings, click Network & Internet.
Open Adapter Options
On the Status page, click Change adapter options. If you do not see it, look under Advanced network settings or related network options.
Choose Your Active Connection
Right-click the connection you currently use. This is usually Wi-Fi for wireless internet or Ethernet for a wired connection.
Open Adapter Properties
Select Properties from the menu. If Windows asks for permission, click Yes or enter your administrator password.
Select Internet Protocol Version 4
In the list of connection items, select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4), then click Properties.
Enter Your UnGeo DNS Servers
Select Use the following DNS server addresses, then enter the UnGeo DNS addresses shown in your Client Area.
Save Your DNS Settings
Click OK, then close the remaining network settings windows.
Restart Your Browser or Streaming App
Close and reopen your browser or streaming app so it starts using the new DNS settings.
