Windows 7 Smart DNS Setup Guide
Follow this simple guide to set up UnGeo Smart DNS on Windows 7 and use your DNS settings directly through the classic Control Panel.
Before You Start
Before changing your DNS settings, make sure your UnGeo account is active and your current IP address is added in your Client Area. If that is already done, continue with the DNS setup below.
Check your UnGeo account
Make sure you have an active UnGeo account to use UnGeo Smart DNS.
Client Area ›Add your current IP address
Add your current IP address in the Client Area to allow UnGeo to work properly.
Register My IP Address ›Once both are done, continue with the DNS setup steps.
Step-by-Step Setup Guide
Open Control Panel
Click the Windows Start button, then open Control Panel.
Go to Network and Internet
In Control Panel, click Network and Internet.
Open Network and Sharing Center
Click Network and Sharing Center to view your active network connection settings.
Open Change Adapter Settings
In the left-side menu, click Change adapter settings.
Choose Your Active Connection
Right-click your active network adapter. This is usually Local Area Connection for wired internet or Wireless Network Connection for Wi-Fi.
Open Adapter Properties
Select Properties from the menu. If Windows asks for permission, click Yes or enter your administrator password.
Select Internet Protocol Version 4
In the list of connection items, select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4), then click Properties.
Enter Your UnGeo DNS Servers
Select Use the following DNS server addresses, then enter the UnGeo DNS addresses shown in your Client Area.
Save the DNS Settings
Click OK, then click Close to save the new DNS settings for your network adapter.
Restart Your Browser or Streaming App
Close and reopen your browser or streaming app. If the old connection is still cached, restart your computer once.
